Tumaini Children's Home
at Nyeri, Kenya

The Tumaini Children's Home of Nyeri, Kenya began as a small feeding program for local AIDS orphans. The children’s need was great, however, and within a short amount of time the program had expanded to house a growing number of orphaned and vulnerable children in the area. There are now 170 children living at Tumaini, and IBECOME programming is a mainstay on the ground, providing support in education, health, entrepreneurship and technology, arts, sports and community sustainability.

  To equip orphaned and vulnerable youth with the resources, skills, and opportunities to become productive and proactive agents of change in their communities.

  A transformative change must take place in the current orphanage model in order to restore human rights to vulnerable youth and reclaim the promise of their lives and futures.
