Our Model
IBECOME’s visionary orphanage academy model is the first truly comprehensive approach to educating and empowering orphaned and vulnerable youth. Our academy programming lies at the intersection of research-based development solutions and current statistical data on the local realities of children living in poverty and in high-risk situations around the world.
Upon invitation, IBECOME enters into partnership with an orphanage and works collaboratively with local directors and staff to develop and implement a plan for holistic programming based on innovation, exceptional vision, and challenging curricula.
Our framework allows a personalized approach to each partner orphanage, enabling us to address the diverse needs of the children, the orphanage, and the communities through a network of volunteers, staff, and local community partnerships.
Programming
IBECOME’s efforts involve strategic planning and programming in the following areas:
Health
IBECOME supports day-to-day healthcare in orphanages where primary care typically means only emergency care. In regions without access to quality services, IBECOME seeks to launch healthcare clinics and health education programs for orphanage centers and nearby community members. Learn more . . .
Education
IBECOME expands existing orphanages to create orphanage academies for orphaned and vulnerable youth, providing rich learning communities and diverse resources to students. IBECOME offers scholarship funds to support higher learning for students and committed staff, as well as study abroad opportunities through international school partnerships. Learn more . . .
Entrepreneurship & Technology
IBECOME offers business education to prepare children for life after the orphanage, including hands-on micro-financed social entrepreneurship projects to help children become effective in their communities. Within the orphanage itself, our micro-business projects enable the center to scale up toward self-sustainability. Learn more . . .

Best Practices
All of our programming is evaluated by two signature best practice guides:
PACE
IBECOME is dedicated to steady growth and maximum impact. For this reason, we have developed PACE, a unique system of evaluation for current and potential programming that ensures that all of our programs are effective and are in line with our organizational goals. Learn more . . .
Volunteer Impact Assessment ("VIA")
The VIA program is another unique program developed by an IBECOME founder to improve the volunteer programming in service learning organizations. We use VIA to learn how to create more sustainable programming for our volunteers and the local communities they serve. Learn more . . .
